For awhile now I have been contemplating about purchasing a CSA {Community Supported Agriculture} share from a farm.
The only problem is, a lot of the shares I looked into didn't have a half share option or weren't taking anymore shareholders for the season.
It was really frustrating to me, because I really wanted to find something that would work for D. & I but also not burn a huge hole in our pockets.
Awhile back D. & I decided that we really wanted to have more of a focus on eating organic and all natural, yet we wanted to play our part in helping our community that surrounds us.
You wouldn't believe how excited I was when I came across a card for Green B.E.A.N. Delivery.

Green B.E.A.N. Delivery is an online service that works locally within the surrounding Midwest community providing consumers all natural and organic selections from local farmers and artisans. You can find a ton of things on this site including meat, dairy products, veggie and fruit produce bins, eggs, and tons of other items. It's basically like going grocery shopping but from your computer and they deliver it to your doorstep.
I love the fact that as I shop online I can read bio's that tell all about the farmers and other businesses that are involved with the company as well as explaining their growing and feeding selections.
The veggie and produce bins come in different sizes, so we were able to buy one that feeds 2-3 people and it only cost us $17.50! {Normal price will run about $35 for each delivery but we had a special discount code for our first produce bin- still $35 is not too shabby for all we got in our bin}
You also have the option of whether you wish to receive bins every week or every other week and they don't charge delivery prices just a little extra to make sure that your food keeps cold when it's delivered.
[Interested? Use this code on your purchase and get the same awesome discount: CRCFIHW]

Here's a little view into my bin:

I am beyond excited-
Everything delivered was guaranteed to be fresh & delicious and they were right!

And speaking of food,
D. & I were able to go on a date night, which was a first in a loooooong time.
We went to one of our favorite restaurants, North Star Cafe-
This restaurant is a great option for both of us because it gives you food choices that are both vegetarian as well as meat options and it's all organic and delicious!
Avocado and Tofu Sandwich with a wild rice mix

Ranch Cheeseburger with home cut fries- Those fries were too good for ketchup!
We also went and saw Crazy, Stupid, Love.
Can I just say that I loved this movie?
What did you guys think about it- Have you seen it yet?
Bottom Line:
Date nights are the best.

{You like how my outfit photos are in 3 different locations? Yeah, we weren't really succeeding with an awesome photo-shoot sort of day}

As promised from yesterday, here's an easy and quick recipe for Banana Bread:

What You'll Need-
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 1/3 cup over-ripened bananas
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, & salt
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar together then adding in eggs and mashed bananas
  4. Add the creamed mixture to the dry ingredients until moist {I suggest adding altogether- I followed this recipe till  it was "moist" and it made my bread a little dry}
  5. In a lightly greased pan, add ingredients and bake for 60-65 minutes {I suggest a little under this to keep bread moist}- You should be able to put a toothpick in it and it will come out clean
  6. Eat up!

*Yesterday I also baked my favorite cookie recipe ever- Peanut Butter Cookies- But that my friends will be left for another day. Be Jealous.

*ON ANOTHER NOTE* Today was D.'s first volleyball scrimmage for his girls- it was so fun to go see him coaching!
Doesn't he look intense?

 So remember how adamant I was on my cleaning day Friday?
Here's my progress:
-AFTER-

So I still have a way to go since I've yet to hit up my laundry or my closet, but progress is progress and I'm pretty proud of myself!
Oh & by the way, see that vanity?
D got it awhile back for a mere $7 at a garage sale and I'm planning on revamping it here in the near future.
Pretty good find if I do say so myself.

I also picked "flowers" on my walk with the pups this evening.
Aren't they pretty?
{One man's idea of weeds is another man's pretty flowers}

Everything's looking pretty snazzy up in the Hopewell household-

So today is my other day off for the week & guess what I'll be doing most of the day
{if you haven't already read the title of this post yet}
I'm on a cleaning frenzy!
I'm embarrassed to say, but our poor little home is a slight disaster thanks to our last couple of weeks & the chaos that came with it.
So I have taken it upon myself to spend the greater part of the afternoon scrubbing away.
Here are some before photos that I'm slightly humiliated to post, but I feel that this will help keep me motivated for the morning knowing "the disaster" is out there for all to see {Sorry Mom}:

Wish me luck!

Today was a fabulous day which involved visiting my friend Kara & her two kids as well as seeing some other family members while in the area and ending the night with some Chipotle for dinner {yum}.
I love days like today where I can just relax and fully enjoy a day-
& to me, the best way to spend a day is with lots of people in it.
{Yes, I'm definitely an extrovert}
Aren't they cute?
The Little Chipotle Princess
I've done a lot of thinking today as well and I realized that I'm lacking something outside of work and home life-
I think I need a hobby.
I love my blogging, but it gets hard to do as much as I would like to do right now because we're kind of lacking a thing called an extra computer. *sigh.*
So tomorrow I'm going to start making a list of all the things I would like to do, then I plan on marking to the side of the list all the ways these things can realistically happen {Finding time, dates, and money for each project or event}

What kind of hobbies do you guys have out there?
Any ideas for my list?

So as most of you know, we spent most of our morning Saturday rocking out at our garage sale in which we pocketed a few extra bucks as well as enjoyed some fun in the sun-
{A little too much fun sun, might I add, I'm now sporting some new red skin}
For that evening, however, D. & I transitioned into fabulous models.
My friend Richelle needed some volunteers to walk out pieces that were being auctioned for a benefit dinner that she was doing at the Bowen House-
She asked me if D. & I would like to dress up, helped out, and enjoy some free food-
She had me at free food.
{Plus, might I add, Vanna White has nothing on us}
We ended up having a fabulous time and we loved being to help out the local arts community in Logan.

Sunday involved church, a car show, and work.
